Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Dakar Projects LLC (“Dakar Projects,” “Roddy HQ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with the Roddy AI receptionist platform and the website at roddyhq.com (collectively, the “Service”).
Plain-language summary. Roddy is an AI receptionist that answers phone calls for businesses. To do that, we record and transcribe phone calls, process them with AI, and store call details so the business can see what was said, book appointments, and follow up. We don’t sell personal information. If you’re a caller and don’t want to be recorded, please hang up and contact the business another way.

1. Who we are & who this covers
The Service is operated by Dakar Projects LLC, a limited liability company organized in the State of Texas, United States. This Policy applies to two groups of people:
- Customers — businesses and their authorized users who create an account to use Roddy as their receptionist.
- Callers — people who place or receive phone calls that Roddy answers or handles on a Customer’s behalf, and people who use a Customer’s chat widget powered by Roddy.
For call and message content, the Customer (the business whose line was called) is generally the “controller” of that data, and we act as a service provider/processor on their behalf. If you are a Caller and have questions about how a particular business uses your information, please contact that business directly.
2. Information we collect
Information Customers provide
- Account & profile: name, email address, password credentials (via our authentication provider), business name, business phone number(s), business hours, services offered, service area, and receptionist configuration.
- Calendar connection: Google account authorization (OAuth tokens) used to read and write appointments on calendars you connect.
- Payment & payout details: information processed through our payments provider for billing and, where applicable, employee payouts.
- Support communications: messages you send us.
Information we collect from calls & interactions
- Call audio recordings and transcripts of conversations Roddy handles.
- Caller details: the caller’s phone number, any name the caller provides, and information the caller shares during the call (e.g., appointment requests, reasons for calling, messages).
- Call metadata: date, time, duration, call direction, routing/outcome, and an AI-generated summary and sentiment.
- Appointment data: details needed to schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments on a connected calendar.
- Chat widget messages, where a Customer deploys the Roddy chat widget on their site.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, and log data when you use our website or dashboard.
- We use strictly necessary cookies/local storage to keep you signed in. We do not use the website to run third-party advertising trackers.
3. Call recording & transcription
The core function of the Service is to answer and process phone calls. As part of this, calls handled by Roddy are recorded and transcribed, and the audio, transcript, and derived data are stored for the Customer.
Notice and consent. Call-recording laws vary by state and country — some require that all parties consent to recording. Each Customer is responsible for providing any legally required notice and obtaining any required consent from callers, and for using the Service in compliance with applicable laws. Where Roddy plays a recording/notice announcement, it does so to support (not replace) the Customer’s compliance obligations. If you are a caller and do not consent to being recorded, please end the call.
4. How we use information
- Operate the Service: answer calls, hold conversations, book and manage appointments, take messages, and transfer or escalate calls.
- Generate transcripts, summaries, and sentiment analysis, and deliver call notifications and reports to Customers.
- Authenticate users, provide the dashboard, and process billing and payouts.
- Maintain, secure, debug, and improve the Service.
- Communicate with Customers about the Service and respond to support requests.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
5. AI processing
Roddy uses third-party artificial-intelligence providers to convert speech to text, generate spoken and written responses, and analyze calls. Call audio, transcripts, and related content are transmitted to these providers solely to provide the Service. We do not authorize the use of Customer or Caller content to train these providers’ general models, and we rely on the providers’ API terms for such handling. AI systems can make mistakes; AI-generated summaries, bookings, and responses may contain errors and should be verified.
6. How we share information
- With the Customer: call recordings, transcripts, messages, and related data are made available to the business whose line was called (and its authorized users).
- Service providers / subprocessors: the vendors listed below, who process data on our behalf to deliver the Service.
- Legal & safety: when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users, the public, or us.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Service providers (subprocessors)
We use the following categories of providers to operate the Service. This list may change as the Service evolves.

| LiveKit | Real-time voice/SIP session infrastructure |

8. Google API data
If you connect a Google account, the Service requests access to your Google Calendar to read availability and create, update, or cancel appointments. Roddy’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use Google data only to provide and improve user-facing features of the Service, do not transfer or sell it for advertising, and do not use it for any purpose other than the calendar functionality you authorize. You can disconnect Google access at any time from your dashboard or via your Google account permissions.
9. Data retention
We retain account information for as long as a Customer account is active, and call recordings, transcripts, and related data for as long as needed to provide the Service and for the Customer’s records, unless a shorter or longer period is required by law or requested by the Customer. When data is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. Customers can request deletion of specific call records or their account as described below.
10. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable hosting and infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. Because much call data is controlled by the Customer:
- Customers may access, export, or delete call records from the dashboard, or contact us for help with account-level requests.
- Callers who want to exercise rights over information collected during a call should contact the business they called; you may also contact us and we will route your request appropriately.
To make a request, email admin@dakarprojects.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
12. Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. U.S. data & international users
The Service is operated in the United States, and information is processed and stored in the U.S. and in the regions used by our service providers. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your jurisdiction.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take additional steps where required by law. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
